25th March 2012 - Oare Marshes

Hoping for less fog than yesterday, we headed out to Oare Marshes to meet up with the friendly RSPB Epsom & Ewell group.  This was our first time to Oare Marshes and apparently it's usually a lot less foggy and a lot more bird populated.  However, we managed to up our wader count for the year with 4 new ones and also realised upon seeing two, that we hadn't seen a single Little Egret this year.  There were Highland Cattle a plenty, always a bonus.

Many many Black-tailed Godwit

We were trying to keep an eye out for a Great White Egret spotted a couple of days before but no luck.  Something we weren't expecting was for a Bearded Reedling to do a fly past, but unfortunately I was looking the other way (of course).  I wasn't looking the other way for the bird of the trip though - a Cetti's Warbler!
